Rosemarie 'Rosie' King, 67, Beacon of Strength
Rosemarie Rosie King (nee: Maderia), 67 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, with her family at her side, at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness.She was born March 30, 1939 in Mundy’s Corner, Pennsylvania. She has been a resident of the Lorain County area for over forty-five years.
She was employed as a real estate agent with Realty One in Lorain for many years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. Rosie King had several roles during her life- wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, but her most cherished role were those that focused on her love of family. Throughout her life, Rosie was a beacon of strength. She was a counselor and a shoulder to lean on, always willing to listen and never quick to judge. As she approached her demonstrated the strength, courage, faith and determination that was typical throughout her full and accomplished life. While she has passed through heaven’s gate, her presence will be forever felt. Her voice will be heard in the laughter of her grandchildren. Her touch will be felt in the winds that come with the passing of the seasons. Her beauty will be seen in the flowers that come with the spring especially the roses.
Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, James, Jim King; her sons Jim King of Dublin, and Jeff King of Apex, North Carolina; her daughter Denise Bell of Galena; her grandchildren Spencer, Stephen, Bryson, Lexi, Grayson, Garrett and Ainsley; her brothers, Joe Maderia of Wakeman, Emery Maderia of Revloc, Pennsylvania, Pat Maderia of Scottsdale, Arizona, Tom Maderia of Elyria and Larry Maderia of Amherst; and her sisters, Fran Anderson of Amherst, Cecilia King and Patty Klinar, both of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick Francis and Anna Sophie Maderia (nee: Tutko); and by her sister Aggie Meier.
Friends may call Friday, June 23, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Closing prayers will be on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr. Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
