Julie A. Chet, 60, Avid NASCAR Fan

She was born on October 7, 1945, in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1963, and then attended Lorain Business College with certification in data processing.

Ms. Chet was employed at the former Gilford Institute in Oberlin for 13 years as a data entry clerk and computer operator. She then went on to other various data entry jobs in accounting until 2002.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where she served on the church council and was a liturgist and usher.

Ms. Chet was an avid Nascar fan, she also enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Robin A. Gross of Vermilion, Denise I. Ives of South Amherst, six grandchildren, sister-in-law Kay Chet and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Chet was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert J. and Anne E. (nee Haake) Chet, her step mother Sue (Nee Andorka) Chet and a brother G. Jack Chet.

Funeral Services at St. John's United Church of Christ, 715 Reid Ave., Lorain, OH, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 28th, with Rev. Philip Kunz, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.
