Mark R. Shimer, 60, Vietnam War Veteran
Mark R. Shimer, 60 of Lorain, died on early Monday morning, June 26, 2006, at his residence following a long illness.
Mr. Shimer was born in Cleveland, OH on September 18, 1945, and lived most of his life in the Lorain area. He was a self employed drywall finisher. He served in the US Army as a SP4 in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He is survived by his wife Patty M. Zadamsky of Lorain, daughters Karrie M. Shimer of Amherst, Julie Schuster of Sheffield Lake, Trisha L. Molina, Damaris N Shimer both of Lorain, sons Jose C. Gonzalez, Carlos A Gonzalez both of Lorain, 9 grandchildren, sister Melanie A. Caruso of Birmingham, OH. brother Timothy B. Shimer of Amherst, OH and Earl R. Shimer of Lorain, OH.
Mr. Shimer was preceded in death by David L. and Beatrice W. (nee Fletcher) Shimer, and a brother David F. Shimer.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 10:30 AM in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio with full military services by the Cemetery Honor guard.
