Jacob H. Ruth, 80, Former Employee of Ohio Screw Products
Jacob H. Ruth, 80 years of age, and a resident of New London, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.He was born July 2, 1925 in South Amherst where he was raised and lived before moving to New London, Ohio in 1996.
He was employed at Ohio Screw Products in Elyria for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1989 as a machine operator. Jacob was a member of the New London Eagles. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and vegetable gardening.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years Doris Ruth (nee: Winiarski); his son Thomas Walter Ruth of Elyria; his daughters Doreen S. Ruth of LaGrange and Paula J. Cyb of Warren, Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Teresa Marie Ruth (nee: Foch); and by his brothers Ernest Ruth and Walter Ruth.
Friends may call Friday, June 30, 2006, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Sieth, interim pastor of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
