Rita R. Katricak, 87, Active Member of Holy Trinity Church
Rita R. Katricak (nee Petras), 87, of Lorain, died Saturday July 1, 2006 at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain.She was born November 16, 1918 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1946 moving from Lakewood, Ohio. She was a graduate of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Grade School in Lakewood and St. Therese Academy in Cleveland.
Rita was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Altar & Rosary Society. She was active in the church helping with general maintenance. She was also a member of Slovak Catholic Sokols Wreath #111 and the National Slovak Society Assembly #160.
She enjoyed baking nut roll and poppy seed roll.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years John P. Katricak of Lorain, sons Rev. Kenneth Katricak O.S.B. of Parma Heights and Robert F. Katricak of Lorain & 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ann Marie Czarney on 12/18/03, parents Michael & Rose Petras (nee Luscak), sisters Mary Kovak, Catherine Talafer, Ann Petras and Margaret Petras and brothers Victor Petras, Michael Petras and Frank Petras.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 4, 2006 from 4-8 PM at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Holy Trinity Altar & Rosary Society will recite the rosary Tuesday at 4:00 PM and a prayer service will be conducted by the monks of St. Andrew Abbey on Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth Katricak and the Rev. David A. Novak, pastor, of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
