Lowell Morrow, 68, Employed by Elyria Foundry for 22 Years

Lowell Morrow, 68 years of age, and a resident of Amherst Township, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born on October 5, 1937 in Crackerneck, Kentucky. He has been a resident of Amherst Township since 1955.

He was employed by the Cleveland Stone Quarries in South Amherst and then the Elyria Foundry for twenty-two years, retiring in 2004 as a foreman. He was a former member of Old Fashioned Grace Baptist Church in South Amherst. In his spare time, Lowell enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, gardening, attending car races, and going to auctions.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-laws Daniel L. and Sandy Morrow of Sheffield Lake and Brian A. and Michelle Morrow of Grafton; his daughter Sue E. Morris of Louisville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his brothers Wendel Morrow of Kentucky and Billy Morrow of Elyria; his sisters Sarah Nicholas of Branston, Kentucky and Annetta Morrow of Kidder, Kentucky; and his dear friend and companion Ella Mae Hatcher.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years Geraldine “Gerry” Morrow (nee: Bray) no July 18, 1998; by his parents Oliver William and Zora Morrow; by his brothers Luther Morrow and Ed Morrow; and by his sister Ida Mae Hardwick.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 25, 2006, from 6-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 2 p.m. from Old Fashion Grace Baptist Church; 500 West Main St., South Amherst. Pastor Irvin Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
