Elaine Zicarelli, 68, Lorain Products Accounting Department Retiree

Ms. Zicarelli was born in Lorain on August 17, 1937. She was a graduate of Brookside High School and went on to attend the Lorain Business College.

She had been employed as an Accounting Department Representative at the former Lorain Products Company; Elaine retired in 2001 following a career that spanned twenty-four years with the manufacturer.

She attended Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church. Her hobbies included league bowling, gardening, and crafting. Additional interests included sewing and crocheting.

She is survived by sons Douglas J. Smith and Robert S. Smith both of Lorain, four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father Samuel Zicarelli in 1968, by her mother Blanche Zicarelli (nee Nemeth) in 1963, by her infant grandson Owen Smith in 2000, by a brother Samuel in infancy, along with her sister Rosemary Schwarz in 1993.

Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning with closing prayers at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church – 2702 Elyria Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend David A. Novak, Parish Administrator of Saint Stanislaus Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
