William E. Hanculak, 82, Watch Repairman
William E. Hanculak, 82, of Vermilion died Friday August 4, 2006 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a sudden illness.He was born January 3, 1924 in Cleveland and had resided in Vermilion for the past 15 years moving from Parma.
Bill served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean War as a staff sergeant in the 4000th Army Air Force Base Unit. He received the WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.
He worked as a watch repairman in several jewelry stores. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars posts in Parma and Vermilion and enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is survived by his sons Daniel Hanculak of Avon and Tim Hanculak of Vermilion, daughter Patricia Noss of Cleveland, 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and sister Matilda Kotar of North Ridgeville. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Hanculak (nee Lulu) in 1995, parents Joseph & Barbara Hanculak (nee Stelbasky), brothers Matthew Hanculak and Joseph Hanculak and siser Marjorie Hanculak.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2006, at 1:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason Rd, Vermilion. The Rev. James Holmer pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion will officiate and the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
