William Edward Butkowski, 55, Lorain Tile and Mat Supply Company Owner

He was born April 6, 1951 in Lorain and has been a Vermilion resident for over 30 years, moving from Lorain.

He owned the Lorain Tile and Mat Supply Company for many years and had also worked for Lorain Products and the Angelica Corporation in Lorain.

He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, the Lorain United Polish Club and enjoyed photography and camping.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Butkowski of Wakeman; sons, Ben Butkowski of Lorain and Justin Butkowski of Wakeman; 2 grandchildren, Jordan and Nicholas Butkowski; sister, Ann Marie Butkowski-Cecys of Lorain; brothers, John Butkowski and Paul Butkowski, both of N. Ridgeville; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Anna (nee Bylica) Butkowski.

Friends may call Monday, August 21, 2006 from 4-8 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
