Hoover Niece, 77, Ford Motor Co. Assembler

Hoover Niece, 77 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2006 at Community Health Partners H & S Center ER in Lorain following a sudden illness.

He was born December 7, 1928 in Whitesburg, Kentucky where he was raised. Lorain has been his home for forty years.

Hoover worked for nineteen years in the coal mines in Kentucky before settling in Lorain where he was employed by the Lorain Plant of the Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1991 as an assembler in the chassis department. He loved gardening and spending time with is family.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Rena Vay Niece (nee: Sergent); his sons and daughter-in-laws Hoover Darrell and Sharon Niece of Irvine, Kentucky and Stanley and Cheryl of Wellington; his daughter and son-in-law Lesha and Chuck Zvosec of Amherst; his grandchildren Jeremy, Ryan, Andar, Chaz, Stanley, Lauren, Jake, Victor, Jason and Ryan; and his great grandchildren Austyn, Trevyn, Jy, Jax, Brianna, Hayley and Conner; his sisters Nan Honeycutt of Mayking, Kentucky and Sue Tackett of Pikeville, Kentucky; and his brother Burl of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Virgie Niece (nee: Collins); by his brothers Curt, John, Eddie Darrell, and Roy Lovell; and by his sisters Betty and Viola.

Friends may call Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. from Crossroads Baptist Church, Route 58, south of Butternut Ridge Road in Oberlin. The Rev. Bill Hall will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
