Lucy Ellen Dorsey, 66, Lorain County Human Services Retiree
Lucy Ellen Dorsey (nee Pincura) age 66, of South Amherst, died Monday August 28, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following a brief illness.She was born in Lorain on December 18, 1939 and had been a resident of South Amherst for the past eleven years. She had spent the previous fifty-one years living in Lorain.
Lucy was a 1958 graduate of Lorain High School.
She was employed as a caseworker for Lorain County Human Services; Ms. Dorsey retired in 2002 following a career that spanned twenty years with the county agency.
She formerly attended Saint John Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Church of Saint Peter both in Lorain.
Her hobbies included flower gardening and sewing. Additional interests included reading, especially novels, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son Donald and his wife Kim residing in Amherst, daughters Cynthia Dorsey and Christine Dorsey both of South Amherst, Mrs. Dietri (Constance) Ikner of Pensacola, Florida, grandson Andri Ikner, granddaughters Jessica Helloms, Marissa Ikner, and Courtney Dorsey, grandson Jackson Pointdexter, and brothers Joseph Pincura of Avon and James Pincura of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lucy (nee Novak) Pincura.
Private funeral services are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain.
