Juliet F. Peets, 82, Registered Nurse

Juliet F. Peets, 82, of Avon died Friday, September 15, 2006 in Avon Oaks Caring Community, Avon following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 29, 1924 in Lorain. She lived in Washington, D.C. for 28 years before relocating to Alexandria, Virginia in 1970. In 1988, she moved to Mentor, Ohio and in 2004 moved to Avon, Ohio.

She graduated from Saint Mary Academy, Lorain in 1942. She received her Registered Nursing degree from Capital City School of Nursing Washington D. C. in 1945.

She retired from Saint Elizabeth Hospital, Washington in 1987. She started her nursing carrier in Gallinger Hospital, Washington D. C. in 1946. In 1954, she went to work at Saint Elizabeth Hospital Washington D. C. She stayed there for two years, then went to D. C. General Hospital, Washington D. C. In 1982, she returned to Saint Elizabeth Hospital Washington D. C. and stayed there until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and knitting.

Among the survivors are her daughter Mary Jane Barile of Euclid; sisters Jane Vecchio and Mary Margaret Michaud both of Avon and Elizabeth Peets of Sebastian, Florida; two grand children and one great grand son.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas A. and Juliet Frances (nee Porter) Peets.

Friends may call Sunday, September 17, 2006, 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral service will be Monday, September, 18 2006 with closing prayers in the funeral home at 9:30 AM preceded by funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 8th Street and Reid Avenue Lorain, Reverend Father James Betchere, retired will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
