Jose A. Perez, 78, Truck Driver & Mechanic

He was born March 28, 1928 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain in 1976.

He had mostly worked as a truck driver and a mechanic he had also worked for the Elyria Foundry and Ford. He enjoyed playing guitar and electronics fixing radios and televisions.

Among the survivors are his wife of 58 years Esther M. Perez (nee Cortez); sons Jorge A. and Efrain Perez both of Lorain; daughters Haydee Maldonado and Carmen "Cuchita" Cruz both of Lorain; brothers Luis Quinones of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Miguel "Gelo", Martin and Manuel Perez all of Puerto Rico; sisters Elisabeth Quinones of Florida, Fransisca "Panchi" Castro of Florida, Elba and Alicia Quinones of Puerto Rico, Mercede, Moncerate, Antonia and Anna Perez all of Puerto Rico; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cecilio and Carmen (nee Quinones) Perez.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 19, 2006, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Christian Tabernacle, 2203 Meister Road, Lorain, where funeral service will be Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 10:00 AM in the church. The Reverend David Figueroa, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
