Dorothy M. Francis, 70, Enjoyed Playing Bridge

Photo of Dorothy M. Francis Dorothy M. Francis (nee Black), 70, of Amherst died Wednesday September 20, 2006 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.

She was born September 22, 1935 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst most of her life. She had also lived in Las Vegas.

Dorothy was a member of Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards especially poker and bridge and bowling.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years William R. Francis, Jr. of Amherst, son William Ronald Francis III of Matthews, North Carolina, daughters Tyra Ann Moore of Oro Valley, Arizona and Sana Mason of Germany, son Ronald Allan Francis of Sachse, Texas and daughters Lynelle Francis of Elyria and Faira Corbett of South Amherst, 9 grandchildren, sisters Gerri Terpone of Lorain and Linda McVey of Elyria and brother Thomas A. Black of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents Alex Black, Sr. and Mary Black (nee Halas) and brother Alex Black, Jr.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where prayer services will be held Sunday at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Peter Toth, pastor of Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
