Carl Cicerrella, 59, Lorain School Board Member

He was born July 14, 1947 in Lorain and been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Carl was a 1965 graduate of Admiral King High School. He attended Bowling Green State University where he earned a Bachelor Degree in comprehensive science and a Master's Degree in school administration.

Carl worked at Southview High School in Lorain for 35 years as a Science Teacher before retiring in 2005. While at Southview he served as the Key Club advisor. Carl was active with Lorain City schools and current was serving on the Lorain City school board in which he was elected in 2005.

He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain and Kiwanis Club of Lorain. He enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife off 34 years Anna Mary Cicerrella (nee Machoroni), sons: Carl Cicerrella and his wife Sue of Amherst and James Cicerrella of Lorain, daughter Monica Cicerrella of Lorain, grandchildren Alex Cicerrella and Ashley Cicerrella, mother Mary Cicerrella (nee De Marco) of Florida and brother Michael Cicerrella of Flordia and Charles Cicerrella of Amherst. He was preceded in death by his father Michael Cicerrella.

The family will receive friends Sunday, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave. Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth J. Wolnoski, pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter of Lorain, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Freedom Chapel at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
