Julia Ayala Reyes, 68, Enjoyed Singing Puerto Rican Folk Songs
Julia Ayala Reyes 68 of Lorain died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 in Golden Acres Nursing Home, Amherst following a lengthy illness.She was born December 22, 1937 in Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain in 1960. Mrs. Reyes moved to New Briton, Connecticut in 1978. She came back to live her in 1993.
Mrs. Reyes worked for as a housekeeper for the University of Connecticut Medical Center for 15 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She was a helper in the church's kitchen. She had enjoyed singing Puerto Rican folk songs, camping and bingo.
Among the survivors are her husband of 55 Ramon Reyes of Lorain; son Miguel Reyes of Columbia Station; daughter Nilda Morales of Lorain; brothers Frank Ayala of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Wilson Ayala of Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico and Antonio Ayala of Rochester, New York; sisters Juana Ayala and Luz Virginia Ayala both of Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico and a sister Severiana Ayala of Rochester, New York and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luis and Natividad (nee Perez) Ayala and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Thursday, October 19, 2006, 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.
Mass of the resurrection will be Friday, October 20, 2006 at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain 44055. The Rev. William A. Thaden, pastor will officiate.
