Helen Sandor (nee Hospodar), 94
Helen Sandor (nee Hospodar), 94, of Lorain, died Wednesday October 18, 2006 at Lorain Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.She was born October 2, 1912. She lived in Lorain and moved to Maple City, Michigan in the 1940’s where she and her husband John operated the Resort Hotel. She moved back to the Lorain/Amherst area after her husband’s death in 1967.
Helen was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain. She worked at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic School in Lorain as a custodian for a short time and was very active with the church kitchen workers. She enjoyed gardening and crafts.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Sandor in 1967, parents John & Julia Hospodar (nee Subak), brothers Edward Hospodar, Michael Hospodar and Paul Hospodar and sisters Marie Olanger, Rose Kulak and Anne Szewczyk.
The Divine Liturgy will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St. Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain at a later date.
