Helen Lucille Henze , 82, Enjoyed Winter RV-ing

After having received her final healing on October 26, 2006, in Vermilion, OH, the life of Helen L. Henze will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St. Vermilion, OH at 2:00pm.

Mrs. Henze was born in Monroe Falls, OH to Della R. and Elmer Sayers and was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High where she was a class officer and cheerleader. She was active in dance, acrobatics, and trapeze with Meade Werntz. Mrs. Henze was then a resident of Lorain and Vermilion, OH where she was active with Beta Sigma Phi, YMCA, and the Lorain Community Hospital Auxiliary. She moved to Eagle River, WI and was active with Nicolet College adult education, Snow-Eagles snowmobile club, volunteering at the Eagle River Memorial Hospital, the Congregational Church, cross-country skiing and boating. After moving back to Avon Lake/Vermilion, Mrs. Henze resumed activities with the hospital auxiliary and was instrumental with the design of the Ireland Cancer Center Chemotherapy department while battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Winters were spent RV-ing from Minnesota to Texas where she enjoyed clog dancing, Sunday Senior lunches and meeting new people. She enjoyed home-making, needlecrafts, and collecting friends wherever she went.

Mrs. Henze leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband of 40 years, Col. Irvin W. Henze of Vermilion; her son, Timothy J. Lerchbacker and his wife, Leesa of Cypress, TX; her daughters, Sandra (Lerchbacker) Edwards of Lorain, OH; Janelle (Lerchbacker) Slavick and her husband, Dean, of Concord Twp. OH; her step-children, Mary Mura and her husband, John of Gahanna, OH, William Henze of Vermilion, OH and his wife, Laurie, Pete Henze and his wife, Patty of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, John Henze and his wife, Kerry of Venice, FLA; grandchildren, Scot Donohue and his wife, Yolanda, Krysten Lerchbacker, Kallie Lerchbacker, Makella Slavick, Jacob Slavick, Beth Mura of Chicago, IL, Becca Patton and her husband, Steve of Columbus, OH, Michelle Henze, Jennifer Bird and her husband, David, of California, Jennifer Peachman and her husband, Jamie, Kevin Saari, Aaron Cass and his wife, Theresa; and three great-grandsons.

Mrs. Henze was welcomed into eternity by her brothers, Elmer Sayers (Magnolia, TX) and James Sayers (Canton, OH). Her family wishes to thank the Ireland Cancer Center and in particular Linda Gerek, RN, and Dr. Litam for all of their support and kindness throughout this most difficult time.
