Andrew J. Miceli, 76, Clearview High School and Lorain High School Teacher

Andrew J. Miceli, 76 of Lorain, died Friday, October 27, 2006 at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland following a several month long illness.

He was born May 5, 1930 in Lorain, Ohio and has been a lifelong resident.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict, ranking as Captain. He graduated from Lorain High School, Ohio University, BS. ED., and Kent State University, M. Ed.. He taught at Clearview High School and Lorain High School, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the DAV Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Miceli of Florida, Cynthia Gary of Baltimore, Maryland and Andrea Miceli of Lorain; sons, Paul Miceli of Cincinnati, Andrew Miceli of Morgantown, Louisiana and Richard Annabella of Medina; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Garcia of Lorain and Sr. Mary Laura (Lillian) Miceli of Cincinnati.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Knudson-Miceli and his parents, Phillip and Concetta (nee Giardina) Miceli.

Friends may call Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.

Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Joseph West, O.F.M. Conv., will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain with military honors presented by members of the DAV Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20.
