Roy F. Heynes, 71, Lorain Water Works Retiree
Roy F. Heynes, 71 of Lorain, died Friday, November 3, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.He was born April 12, 1935 in Lorain and has been a lifetime resident.
He worked for the Lorain Water Works for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He was honored with a Proclamation Roy Heynes Day for having a perfect attendance work record. He was also an active member of the Lorain Auxiliary Police Force for 24 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and enjoyed traveling to Florida.
He is survived by a brother, Gerald E. Heynes of Jupiter, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Frank and Helen (nee Flood) Heynes.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 9:00 am followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Mary Catholic Church, 8th Street and Reid Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Daniel O. Divis, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
