Ida Marie Eakin , 86, Steelers Football Fan
Ida Marie Eakin (nee: Coy), 86 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.She was born April 1, 1920 in Vinton, Ohio where she was raised and lived until age 20. She then moved to Pittsburgh PA where she lived for fifty-nine years coming to the Lorain Amherst area in 1999.
She was employed with H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh for fifty years, retiring in 1992 as a time keeper. While in Lorain, she attended Faith Baptist Church in Amherst. Marie loved watching baseball and football games, photography, traveling, and was a Steelers football fan.
Survivors include her sister Luella Wright of Elyria; her brother David W. Coy of Shreveport, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Fannie Coy (nee: Shenefield); and by her brother Wendell Coy in 1975.
Friends may call Saturday, November 25, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church; 440 North Lake St., Amherst. The Rev. Michael Plog, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
