Jacob Pruchinsky, 74, B.O.P. Shop Control Chemist

Jacob Pruchinsky, age 74, of Lorain, died Wednesday November 22, 1932 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Pruchinsky was born May 27, 1932 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

A 1950 graduate of Clearview High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Jacob attained the rank of Sergeant and fulfilled duty assignments while attached to the 109th Quartermaster Service and the 101st Airborne Division.

He was employed as a control chemist in the B.O.P. Shop of U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain-Cuyahoga Works retiring in 1996. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Polish Fisherman’s Club of Lorain as well as the Black River Conservation Club. Additional hobbies included working with his personal computer.

Survivors include sons Donald “Jay” Pruchinsky and Tike Pruchinsky both of Lorain, daughters Doreen Al-Ameeri, Lauri Pruchinsky, and Dee Garcia all of Lorain, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and brothers Walter and Albert of Amherst and Victor of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his wife Connie (nee Down) in 2001, by his parents Joseph and Alice (nee Faze) Pruchinsky, by a grandson Derek Garcia, and by a great grandson malachi garcia.
