Lillian Holsted, 82, Avid Volunteer
Lillian Holsted, 82 of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain after a lengthy illness.She was born December 20, 1923 in Clintwood, Virginia, and has lived in Vermilion 17 years moving from southern Ohio.
She enjoyed volunteering her time, and quilted over 1500 quilts for Faith, Hope and Charity Stitches, Inc., an organization that donated quilts and baby items to children's hospitals and shelters across northern Ohio. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Case of Vermilion; 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a half sister, Garnet Mullins of Coeburn, Virginia.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Mary (nee Ball) Puckett; her husband, Walter Holsted, 1989; son, Earl Calhoun in 2006; grandson, Timothy McGlothen in 1988; and brother, Theo Puckett.
Friends may call Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home. Life Celebrant, Matt Humphrey, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
