Rose B. Ban, 81, Active in Community Organizations
Rose B. Ban (nee Polyak) 81 formerly of Lorain died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in Avon Oaks Caring Community Porter Pavilion Assisted Living following a brief illness.She was born January 16, 1925 in Lorain. She was a life long resident. She was a 1943 graduate of Lorain High School. Mrs. Ban worked as a bookkeeper.
She was an active member of Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ of Lorain, the churches' Busy Martha Guild and Senior Lady's Organization and the Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society and Federal Credit Union of Lorain. She and her late husband John were always found in the churches' kitchen helping to cook for all the functions supporting the church.
Among the survivors are her sister Helen Socotch of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years John Ban last year and her brother William Pollack.
Friends may call Monday, December 11, 2006 Noon until time of service at 1:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio. The Reverend Peter Toth, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
