Raymond L. Kirk, 64, Ford Motor Retiree

Raymond L. Kirk, Jr., 64 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born September 9, 1942 in Memphis, TN and has been a Vermilion resident since 1961 moving from Memphis.

He worked as a heavy metal repairman for Ford Motor Company, Lorain for 38 years, retiring in 1999. He owned Bevan's Pet Supply in Lorain from 1994 to 1999 and A-1 Pet Boutique in Vermilion from 2000 to 2006.

He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Lorain, Local Union 425, and he had been a member of the Lorain Police Auxiliary for 2 years. He also enjoyed racing street stock cars at Lorain Speedway and Sandusky Speedway and he especially enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Terrie Kirk, father, Raymond L. Kirk, Sr. of Amherst; son, Chuck Kirk of Milan, TN; 4 daughters: Beth Malone of Plano, TX, Amy Sweet of Mentor, Rebecca Auxier of Lorain, and Jade Marie Kirk at home; and 10 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Helen (nee Crabtree) Kirk.

Friends may call Sunday Dec 10, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Monday Dec 11, 2006, at 1:00 pm with Reverend Terry Parker, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
