Leo Dickel, 92, Enjoyed Hunting
Leo Dickel, 92 of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain after a short illness.He was born June 16, 1914 in Vermilion Twp. where he has been a life long resident.
He worked as a Road Superintendent for Vermilion Twp., retiring after 41
years in 1983. He also worked on his farm and was a logging sub-contractor.
He was a member of the Lorain County Coon Hunters where he had served as president. He enjoyed hunting, racing dogs, and pulling horses.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty Dickel; sons, Ronald Dickel
of Vermilion and Herbert Dickel of Vermilion; daughter, Brenda Zsebik of
Vermilion, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George H. and Florence Edna (nee Neiding) Dickel , brother, Lester Dickel; and 3 sisters: Jennie Massey, Reba Thomas, and Cleo Senior.
Friends may call Monday Dec. 18, 2006 from 6-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral
Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. William Seith officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
