Josephine M. �Buba� Mastorovich , 72, Received Commendation from Pope John Paul II
Josephine M. Buba Mastorovich (nee Marschik), 72, of Sheffield Lake, died Sunday December 17, 2006 in the emergency room at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria after a sudden illness.She was born July 10, 1934 in Murrysville, Pennsylvania and had resided in Sheffield Lake since 1974 moving from Murrysville.
Josephine was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake where she was active with helping run the lottery and bingo nights. She and her husband received a commendation from Pope John Paul II for their help with the church. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Sheffield Lake.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, flower gardening and watching the birds and squirrels. She was an avid newspaper reader and enjoyed baking especially nut roll and pumpkin roll.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Samuel Mastorovich, daughter Teresa Sabo of Elyria, sons Samuel Mastorovich of Louisville, Kentucky, Richard Mastorovich of Sheffield Lake and Bruce Mastorovich of Crestwood, Kentucky, daughter Sandra Kirkwood of Vermilion, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brothers Ralph Marschik of California, and Louis Marschik of Kenosha, Wisconsin and sisters Clara Protheroe of North Versailles, Pennsylvania, Janet Uhl of Burbank, California, Patricia Englke of Diamond Bar, California and Irene Marschik of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Jane Marschik (nee Wilson), grandson Hughey Kirkwood IV, granddaughter Kelsey Kirkwood, sister Marlene Koerner and brothers Leon Marschik and Frank Marschik.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 521 Harris Rd., Sheffield Lake. The Rev. Stephen Shields, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
