Virginia Evelyn Newbrough (nee Richard), 79, Member of Meals on Wheels

Mrs. Newbrough was born in Clarksburg, WV on Feb. 28, 1927 and has lived in Lorain since 1950. She was a graduate of Wirt County High School in Elizabeth, WV. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain. She was a member of the church Alter Guild, Ruth Circle, Funeral Committee, food bank and Meals On Wheels. She was a member of the Tappan Squares Dance Club. She hand quilted a quilt for all members of her family.

Mrs. Newbrough retired in 1982 from the Hills Department Store as a stock clerk with 18 years of service.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence H. Newbrough, to whom she was
married on Feb. 12, 1946. Also surviving are a daughter Dana L. Szucs of Lorain, a son Richard H. Newbrough of Elyria, 4 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, sisters Glenna Floyd of Belpre, OH, Wilma Busch of Parkersburg, WV, brothers Raymond Richard and James Richard both of Elizabeth, WV and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Newbrough was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Esther (nee Wolverton) Richard, brother Kenneth Paul Richard and sister Mabel Kathleen Gibson.

Friends may call Wednesday, December 20, 2006, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH.

Additionally, friends may call on Thursday, December 21, 2006, from
10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave, Lorain with co-pastors Rev. Dr. L. H. Chamberlain and Rev.Jimmy Madsen, officiating.

Burial will be in the Resthaven Memory Gardens Avon, OH.
