June Jeanette Stiwald , 84, Lifelong Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church
June Jeanette Stilwald (nee Draga), 84 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.She was born July 16, 1922 in Grafton, Ohio. She was a lifetime resident of Amherst, graduating Valedictorian from Amherst High School with the class of 1940.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed in the accounting department at the former American Crucible, now Kenco Pump, in Lorain. june was a lifelong memeber of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst.
Survivors include her sons William "Pete" Stiwald and Michael Stiwald, both of Amherst; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and her sister Velma Pippert of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willis E. Stiwald in 1961; by her parents Arthur and Bertha Draga (nee Zillyett); and her brother Charles Draga.
Friends may call Friday, December 29, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Terrance Adamson, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
