Bernice "Bernie" E. Garrett, 83, Ford Motor Retiree

Bernice "Bernie" E. Garrett, 83 of Lorain, died Monday, January 8, 2007 at his home, after a short illness.

He was born August 29, 1923 in Crocket, Co., TN and has been a Lorain resident since 1958, moving from Memphis, TN.

He worked as a repairman for Ford Motor Co. Lorain for 31 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of Delaware Ave. United Methodist Church, Lorain where he was active as an usher and involved in the United Methodist Men's Association. He was also a member of the UAW Local 425 and enjoyed gardening, yard work, watching the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Football, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Laverne (nee Littles) Garrett, daughter, Judy Garrett of Dallas, TX, son, Jerry Garrett of Cleveland, and brothers, Edward F. Garrett of Paris, TN, and William "Bill" Garrett of Plantation, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert "Bob" and Johnnie (nee Thompson) Garrett, half brother, Jack Garrett and half sister Thelma Thompson.

Services were held in Halls Tennessee.
