John R. �J.R.� DelBoccio, 26, 1998 Marion L. Steele Graduate & Varsity Letterman

J.R. was born in Lorain, Ohio on July 4, 1980 and had been a resident of Lorain County for most of his life.

He was a 1998 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst where he was a varsity letterman on the football team. He also participated in swimming and wrestling competition with the Amherst City Recreation Program.

He went on to receive his Associate Degree from Lorain County Community College and his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology from Cleveland State University. He had spent the past several months working in California and had recently accepted a transfer back to Ohio.

Mr. DelBoccio attended the Church of the Open Door in Elyria and was formerly active with the youth group there.

He was a health and physical fitness enthusiast who enjoyed surfing, skydiving, and boxing. He was also a talented cook.

Mr. DelBoccio is survived by his daughter Mia, by his parents Dennis V. And Cynthia R. (nee Adams) DelBoccio, brother Jason of Lorain, brother Chad and sister-in-law Elizabeth of Amherst, nieces Grace and Emma DelBoccio, maternal grandmother Julia (nee Costanzo) Adams of Lorain, and paternal grandmother Sarah (nee Gallo) DelBoccio also of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Elbert Adams in1999 and by his paternal grandfather Dominic DelBoccio also in 1999.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Open Door – 43275 Telegraph Road – Elyria with the Reverend Larry Russ officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – Amherst Township.
