George �Bud� McCall, 76, U.S. Army Veteran

George “Bud” McCall, 76 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday January 13, 2007 at Community Health Partner H & S Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 28, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio where he was raised. He lived in Lorain and has been a resident of Amherst for the pasted eleven years.

He served in the U.S. Army. George was employed with the Lorain County Human Services in Elyria for nineteen years retiring in 1992 from the maintenance department. He was a member of the Elyria AmVets Post #32. He loved fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his sons Steve, Patrick and Andrew McCall of Elyria; his daughter Coleen Smith of Amherst and Dawn Turner of Lorain; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and his sister Catherine Baker of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jaquelyn (nee Kennedy) in 1991; by his parents Andrew and May McCall (nee Monyak); by his brothers Robert and John “Jack” McCall; and by his sister Mary Ann Lauter.

Friends may call Tuesday January 16, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave. Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with full military honors given by the Amherst Military Honor Guard from the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
