Rebecca M. Delgado, 64, Enjoyed Cooking and Dancing

Rebecca M. Delgado, 64 of Lorain, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

She was born October 24, 1942 in Lorain and was a life long resident.

Mrs. Delgado was employed by Invacare in Elyria until 2006, prior to that she worked Manco in Avon, Saint Joseph Hospital and did home health care.

She was a member of Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church, Lorain. She was also a member of Mexican American Citizens Club, Knights of Saint John both Lorain and the Lorain Democrat Women's Club. She was a poll worker for the Lorain County Board of Elections. She was very involved with Hispanic community activities. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, bowling and bingo. She was and Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.

Among the survivors are her sons Frank Cruz, Jr. and Randy Cruz both of Lorain; daughters Justine Cruz, Debbie Rodriguez and Melissa Gachupin-Anzurez all of Lorain; sister Linda Alicia of Lorain and brother Paul R. Delgado of Elyria; 20 grand children and 5 great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her companion of 17 years Antonio Silva; husband Frank Cruz, Sr.; daughters Mitzi A. Rodriguez and Monica Vazquez and Her parents Paul R. and Justine (nee Trujillo) Delgado.

Friends may call Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 17, 2007 with closing prayers at 9:15 AM in the funeral home followed by Mass of the christen burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church, East 29th Street and Wood Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend James Schmitz, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
