Jeffery J. ''Jeff'' Vidrick, 64, Security Guard
Jeffery J. "Jeff" Vidrick 64 of Elyria died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a sudden illness.He was born April 12, 1942 In Lorain He lived here for 53 years before moving to Elyria in 1995. He was a graduate of Lorain High School in 1960.
He was working as a security guard for Saint Joseph Specialty Hospital, Lorain for the past five years. Previously he had been employed by the Midway Mall Security, Elyria for ten years. He retired in 1992 as a assembler on the Lorain Ford Econoline Plant, Lorain. He had worked there for 31 years. He served with the Lorain Police Auxiliary earning the rank of Captain for eight years until 1991.
He was a member of Saint Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Lorain. Where he was a past president of the church council. He was also a member of National Rifle Association and the Lorain Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid fisherman, hunter. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and camping.
Among the survivors are his wife of 44 years Donna (nee Simoff) of Elyria; son Joe Vidrick of Powell, Ohio; daughters Jennifer Jaracz of Avon and Julie Westfall of Vermilion; brother Jack Vidrick; sister Janice Bracikowski of Sheffield Village and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents John J. and Angela (nee Kotnik) Vidrick.
Friends may call Sunday January 21, 2007, 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio. Where Trisagion prayer service will be Sunday evening at 7:30 PM in the funeral home. Funeral service will be Monday, January 22, 2007 10:00 AM in Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, 3056 Reeves Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Father Paul Monkowski, Rector will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery, Lorain.
