Leonard L. Matuzek, Sr., 68, Military Career Man
Leonard L. Matuzek, Sr., 68 of Vermilion , died Thursday, January 18, 2007 in EMH Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 14, 1938 in Lorain was a military career man and
lived in Vermilion for the past 30 years.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served as a staff seargent in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an assemblyman for Ford Motor, Lorain. He enjoyed watching televison and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Leonard L. Matuzek, Jr., formerly of Tampa, FL; 3 daughters, Cheriyl Richmond, Republic, Rebecca Smith of Lorain, MaDonna "Donna" Matuzek of Vermilion; 3 grandchildren, Tim, Carla and Roy; sister, Lillian Campo of Lorain; 3 brothers, William "Bud" Matuzek of San Jose , CA , Eugene Matuzek of Glendlae , AZ , Richard "Dick" Matuzek of Ft Lauderdale, FL.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Bobbie Matuzek, Dec. 2, 2004 , parents, Andrew B. and Madonna (nee Peepers) Matuzek.; 3 brothers, Paul E., Benjamin, and Albert Lee Matuzek; 2 sisters, Lucille Shelley and Shirley Plato; and an infant grandson, Jason Smith.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military evening services at 7 p.m.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. Matthew Humphrey, Life Celebrant, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
