Donna Mae Stewart, 56, Pharmacy Technician
Donna Mae Stewart (nee: Phillips), 56 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, January 22, 2007 at the Hospital for Orthopedic & Specialty Services ER in Amherst following an apparent heart attack.She was born July 23, 1950 in Washington, Pennsylvania where she lived until age 24 when she moved to Lorain. Amherst has been her home for the last 27 years.
Donna was employed for sixteen years as a pharmacy technician with CVS Pharmacy for six years and then for Rite Aid Pharmacy for ten years. She volunteered as an Amherst Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and as a cheerleader advisor for the Nord Junior High. She was a member of the Lorain Toledo Road Church of Christ and was active with the women’s committee. Her hobbies included spoiling her grandchildren, crafts and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of twenty-seven years, Richard E. Stewart; her daughters, Leslie Stewart-Atkinson of Kearneysville, WV, Angela Crighton of Savannah, GA, Jennifer Kershaw of Huntersville, NC and Jessica Jones of Texas City, TX; her mother Geraldine M. Phillips (nee: White) of Washington, PA; four grandchildren and one expected grandchild; her brother Chuck Phillips of Scottsdale, AZ and her sisters Norma Ward of Claysville, PA and Georgetta Williamson of Washington, PA.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Dock A. Phillips on March 18, 1986; and by her sisters Sandra Lee Phillips on January 16, 1947 and Susan Maziaraz on March 18, 2000.
Friends may call Thursday, January 25, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Toledo Road Church of Christ, 5075 Toledo Road, Lorain. Evangelist Bob Eddy, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
