Myrtle Elizabeth "Betty" Glick, 84, Founder of Pine Brook Theatre Group
Myrtle Elizabeth "Betty" Glick, (nee Miller), age 84 of Avon Lake died on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the Northridge Health Center in North Ridgeville.Mrs. Glick was born in Lorain, OH on March 28, 1922. She was a member of the Christian Temple-Disciples of Christ Church in Lorain.
She was a member of the Register Clowns of America. She performed under the name of "Pokie Dot," while working for the Raleys Grocery Stores. She was also known for her clown personality known as Kaliope Kate. She was the founder of the Pine Brook Theatre's Group in Pine Brook Village in Folsom, CA.
Mrs. Glick is survived by her husband Walter A. Glick, Sr of Avon Lake, daughter Carol Ann Geren of Hilo, Hawaii, Step Daughter Jane Barnes-Glick of Lorain, Step Sons Walter Glick, Jr. of Lorain, Douglas Glick of Amherst, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband D. L. "Dusty" Rhodes on Nov. 29, 1996 a daughter Peggy, two grandchildren, her parents Rufus Howard and Edith Viola (nee Aldrich) Miller, brothers Joseph Miller, Paul Miller, Edward Miller, sister Sarah and a sister Lois Thompson.
A memorial service is being planned in February. Arrangements are being handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
