William B. Bucsi, 91, 60 Year Member of Black River Lodge # 675 F. & A.M.
William B. Bucsi, age 91, of Vermilion, and long-time Lorainite, died Friday February 2, 2007 at his residence following an illness of five months.Mr. Bucsi was born in Lorain, on January 28, 1916 and had been a resident of Vermilion for the past fourteen months. He was a graduate of Lorain High School as a member of the class of 1935-A.
He was employed as a clerk in the Maintenance Shop of United States Steel Corporation’s Lorain-Cuyahoga Works for almost thirty-five years. He retired from that position in 1980.
Mr. Bucsi was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Lorain and was also a member of the Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society.
He was a talented athlete who played second base and catcher on the baseball team sponsored by the former Chick’s Dairy and also played basketball on the Hungarian Reformed Church team.
He was active in the Masonic Rite and was a member of Black River Lodge # 675 of the F. & A.M.; he had recently received recognition from that body for sixty years of service to Masonry.
In his free time Mr. Bucsi enjoyed stamp collecting, as well as collecting miniature liquor bottles. Additional interests included model railroading and working in his yard.
He is survived by sons Richard A. Bucsi of Bay Village, Ohio and William G. Bucsi of Vermilion, and by grandchildren Ryan M. Bucsi of San Francisco, California and Catherine M. Grealis of Middleburg Heights.
He was preceded in death by his wife Julia (nee Molnar) in 1995, and by his parents Benjamin Bucsi and Elizabeth (nee Pokol) Bucsi.
Private graveside services for the family will be conducted at Ridge Hill Memorial Park - Amherst Township.
