Robert P. Davieau, 59, US Steel Shipping Supervisor

Photo of Robert P. Davieau Robert P. Davieau, 59 of Lorain died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Cleveland Clinic unexpectedly.

Mr. Davieau was born in Sonoma, CA on June 18, 1947. He lived the majority of his life in Lorain. He was a 1965 graduate of Lorain Admiral King High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an E-4 during the Vietnam War.

He was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lorain. He was devoted to his religion. He had been a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Elyria. He taught Sunday School and participated in the men's group at St. Andrews.

Mr. Davieau was a shipping supervisor at US Steel and had worked in the bar mill for several years.

Mr. Davieau was a model railroader. He actively participated in support activities for several candidates running in many local elections. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening. He touted the greenest lawn in the neighborhood. He was well known for his ability to adapt to the various physical challenges that life presented to him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda G. (nee Hupfer) Davieau to whom he was married on May 17, 1997. Also surviving are daughters Heather R Davieau, Jacqueline R. Davieau both of Lorain, Robin J. Davieau of Elyria, son Daniel P. Davieau of Lorain, stepdaughter Heather L. Bunt of Lorain, stepson Todd C. Nagy of Geneva, 7 grandchildren and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Luzem and Carol R. (nee Oldham) Davieau.

A Memorial Service will be Friday, February 23, 2007 at 1:00 PM in Christ United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, OH, with Rev. Matthew Darrin, pastor officiating. Military Honors will be provided jointly by American Legion Post # 30 and VFW Post 451.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to ARDS Research, Kathryn Ries, Administrative Manager, Johns Hopkins University, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, 1830 E. Monument Street, 5th floor, Baltimore, MD 21287
