Edward S. Bozik, 77, Was Drafting Instructor at Southview & Admiral King

Edward S. Bozik, age 77, of Lorain, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness.

He was born in Lorain on July 18, 1929 and had remained a life-long resident of Lorain.

Mr. Bozik was a graduate of Lorain High School as a member of the class of 1947-A. He went on to serve in the United States Army and fulfilled duty assignments as a Private First Class attached to the 3rd Armored Division during the Korean Conflict.

Upon his return from the military he was employed in the Engineering Department of the Thew Shovel Division of Koehring Company. From 1974 through 1994 he was employed as a drafting instructor for the Lorain Public School System where he educated students at both Southview and Admiral King High Schools.

He was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter where he formerly served as an usher and greeter for the 7:00 a.m. Sunday masses. He was also a member and former officer of the Lorain Senior Fellowship.

Ed was an avid reader who especially enjoyed current events and history. He was also an ardent sports enthusiast who enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years Ethel (nee Ferencz), a son James residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter Diane Bozik of Lorain, and sisters Margaret Chulik and Bernice Gorenshek both of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Pauline (nee Cauner) Bozik, and by sisters Mary O’Melia and Eleanor Bozik.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of his funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter – 3501 Oberlin Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor of Saint Peter Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
