Dorothy Harris, 91, Enjoyed Sports, Politics & Bingo
Dorothy Harris (nee Ralich), 91, of Lorain, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Lake Pointe Health Center in Lorain.She was born January 25, 1916 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Dorothy worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain, at The Timbers in Lorain, Perry-Faye and Western-Automatic both of Elyria and retired from Moen in Elyria. She had also worked at and retired from Gray Drug in Lorain.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church in Sheffield Village. She enjoyed sports, politics, playing bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Sally Huge of Elyria, son Chet Harris of Lorain, brother Bogdon Ralich of Avon, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester H. Harris in 1986, parents Elya and Bosilka Ralich, brothers Mike Ralich, Nick Ralich, Milan Ralich, Rudy Ralich, George Ralich and Sam Ralich and sister Mary Zgonc.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Milorad Orlich, pastor of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
