Josephine Pavlik, 88, Enjoyed Family and the Cleveland Indians

Josephine M. Pavlik (nee Gandziarski), 88, of Lorain, died Sunday March 18, 2007 at Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a short illness.

She was born January 9, 1919 in Ford City, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1942.

Mrs. Pavlik worked at US Steel in Lorain as bundler for 21 years retiring in 1971.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others, spending time with her grandchildren and watching the Cleveland Indians.

She is survived by her son Robert R. Pavlik of Amherst, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Pavlik in 1994, son Kenneth Pavlik in 1988, parents Martin and Martha Gandziarski (nee Bobek), sister Antoinette “Ida” Cieslak and brothers Joe Gandziarski and Jess Gandziarski.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by the mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 7th St., Lorain. The Rev. Daniel Divis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
