Charles J. Vidovich, 94, Enjoyed Traveling
Charles J. Vidovich, 94, of Lorain died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 in Avon Oaks Caring Community following a brief illness.He was born October 23, 1912 in Dienuvitcz, Croatia He immigrated to Lorain as an infant.
Mr. Vidovich retired in 1975 from the Production Planning and Control Department of United States Steel, Lorain He worked there for over 44 years.
He was a member of Saint Vitus Croatian Catholic Church and Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church both in Lorain; He was also a member of the Saint Vitus Lodge, United Steel Workers Local 2357 both of Lorain. He was a 3rd Degree life member of The Knights of Columbus 637, Lorain. He
bowled on the Croatian Club, Saint Vitus and Golden Agers Leagues in Lorain. He enjoyed tending his roses, traveling and camping.
Among the survivors are his son Charles E. Vidovich of Lorain and a daughter Frances Kurjan of Lorain; Sister Sylvia Popovich of Lorain; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday, March 25, 2007, 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 26, 2007 with closing prayers in the funeral home at 10:30 AM followed by mass at 11:00 AM in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Homewood Drive and Grove Avenue (RT. 57), Lorain. The Rev. Thomas Smith, Pastor will officiate; Burial will follow
in Calvary Cemetery Lorain.
