Bruce David Henderson, 65, Enjoyed Sailing

Bruce David Henderson, 65, of Vermilion, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a 1 1/2 month illness.

He was born April 24, 1941 in Lorain, Ohio. He has been a Vermilion resident since 1974 moving from Lorain.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1958-1964.

He worked in the paint department at Ford Automotive plant in Lorain.

He was a life member of AMVETS Post # 22, a member of the American Legion Post # 397, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 7576, and the UAW. He enjoyed sailing, motorcycling, traveling, hiking, fishing, and reading.

He is survived by his son, David Henderson of Vermilion; 2 daughters, Toy Henderson of Pinebluff , NC and Pennye Jo Flynn of New London, OH, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Judy Ashby of Bronson, MI and Carole Vargo of Bronson, MI and his former spouse, Bonnye Martinez of Southern Pines, NC.

Preceding him in death were his parents, David James and Evelyn (nee Jackson) Henderson.

Friends may call Saturday, March 31, 2007 from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 4 p.m. Reverend Jim Cooper, pastor of the Harbourtown Community Church will officiate.
