Mary Louise Meza, 85, Enjoyed Cooking

Photo of Mary Louise Meza Mary Louise Meza (nee Martinez) 85 of Lorain died Sunday, April 01, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 18, 1921 in Galion, Ohio. She came to Lorain in 1940.

Mrs. Meza worked in the late 1950's for Joseph and Feiss in Lorain. She has also worked at Saint Joseph Hospital as a messenger/mail girl and an elevator operator.

She was a member of Saint John Roman Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Chapel both of Lorain, She was an also a member of the church's Our Lady of Guadalupe Society. She was a member of the Saint Lads, Polish American Citizens and the former Ukrainian and the Romanian clubs. She enjoyed cooking Mexican specialties and holding garage sales.

Among the survivors are her sons Ray, Joe and Henry Meza all of Lorain; daughters Gloria Fulmer and Linda Cruz both of North Ridgeville; brothers Henry Martinez of Nelsonville and Andy Martinez and of Holland, Michigan and a sister Delores Martinez of Lorain; Seven grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years Enrique Meza in 1980; parents Bonifacio and Jesusita (nee Negrete) Martinez; brothers Joseph, John and Peter Martinez; sister Santos Rodriguez and an infant sister.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 3, 2007, 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 4, 2007. Closing prayer will be 8:45 AM in the funeral home followed by Mass of the Resurrection 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend William A. Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will be private.
