Hester Redmond, 70, Loving Mother and Grandmother
Hester Redmond (nee: Dotson), 70 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at her home following a brief illness.She was born May 5, 1936 in Phelps, Kentucky where she was raised. She moved to Amherst in 1955 and has been a resident of Lorain since 1957.
She was a former member of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain. Hester was a loving mother and grandmother who was always there for her family.
Survivors include her sons Dewayne Redmond, Jr., Donald L. Redmond, and Keith A. Redmond, all of Lorain, and Mark S. Redmond of Wakeman; her daughters Linda Martincin of Amherst and Beverly Brown of Elyria, 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and her brother Roy Dotson of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years Dwayne Franklin Redmond Sr., on January 9, 1999; by her parents Roy, Sr. and Martha Dotson (nee: Eldridge); by her sister Helen Parnell; and by here brothers Jim Dotson, Edger Dotson, and Ray Dotson.
Friends may call Friday, April 06, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Matt Jones, associate pastor of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Avon.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to CHP Regional Foundation /New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
