Dorothy A. Buchanan, 78, Worked at Sheffield Lake Community Center

She was born February 8, 1929 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Lake for the past 37 years.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Mary Academy in Lorain in 1947. She worked at Nelson-Stud/TRW, Harmon Appliance and the Sheffield Lake Community Center.

Dorothy was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Jeffrey Buchanan of Avon Lake and Kenneth Manichl of Ft. Worth, Texas, 3 grandchildren and sisters Sylvia Sobotka of Lorain and Mary Ann Kubicki of Maumee. She was preceded in death by her husband James Buchanan in 2000, sons Timothy Manichl and Dennis Manichl and daughter Denise Manichl in 2003.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2007, from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 521 Harris Road, Sheffield Lake. The Rev. Stephen L. Shields, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
