Asimo ''Sylvia'' Fotopoulos, 81, Enjoyed Sewing and Shopping
Asimo "Sylvia" Fotopoulos (nee Pappas) 81 of Lorain died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain following a brief illness.She was born February, 2, 1926 in Corinth, Thisvon, Greece. She immigrated to Lorain in 1966.
Mrs. Fotopoulos retired in 1980 as a seamstress for the Dalton Company, Lorain. She worked there for ten years.
She was a member of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Lorain. Mrs. Fotopoulos enjoyed sewing, shopping, traveling to Greece, walking Oakwood Park, gardening and her dog Rex.
Among the survivors are her husband of 52 years George Fotopoulos of Lorain; son Peter Fotopoulos of Waldorf, Maryland; daughter Samantha Fotopoulos of Lorain; brother Jim Pappas of Lorain and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Spiro and Fillia (nee Marguritis) Pappas.
Friends may call Thursday, April 12, 2007, 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Where a Trisigon service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening in the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 13, 2007 in Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Boulevard, Lorain. The Reverend Father Michael C. Gulgas, Pastor will officiate, Burial will following Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
