Geraldine R. Teaman, 80, Licensed Beautician For Fifty Years

Geraldine R. Teaman, age 80, of Lorain, died Sunday April 15, 2007 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following an extended illness.

Mrs. Teaman was a graduate of Clearview High School. She later attended the Cleveland Academy of Cosmetology. She was employed as a beautician at the former Jessel’s Beauty Shop in Lorain and later managed her own style salon out of her home. She retired in 1992 following a career that spanned more than fifty years as a cosmetologist and salon manager.

Mrs. Teaman was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Elyria. She was a past member and Vice President of the Washington Avenue School P.T.A.

Her hobbies included baking nut and pumpkin rolls and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of sixty years Thomas, son Gary A. Teaman of Vermilion, daughters Gail A. Brunetto of Amherst and Cynthia S. Jackson of Toledo, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents John A. and Agatha (nee Stenger) Yunker, by brothers Jerome, Sylvester, and Robert, and by sisters Loretta DeMarco, Ethel Dumas, Doris Wright, and Dolores Elliott.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 18, 2007, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway – Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend William Williams, Associate Pastor of the Church of the Open Door officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park – Amherst Township.
