Olive (Olivia) D. MacAuley, 93, Registered Nurse

Olive (Olivia) D. MacAuley, (nee Fontaine) 93, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lake Linden, Michigan, she moved to Torrance, California in 1962, and had lived in Vermilion since 1998.

Mrs. MacAuley worked as a Registered Nurse for Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, CA and worked for the Army Ordinance during World War II. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Palos Verdes, CA and St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion.

She enjoyed sewing, bowling, reading, playing the piano, and playing games with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Tomshack of Vermilion; son, Stephen MacAuley of Arizona; sisters, Claire Coates of Greensboro, NC, Maxine Fontaine of Hemet, CA, Lisa Storm of Rolling Hills, CA; brother, Robert "Bob" Fontaine of Cudahy, WI; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Duncan MacAuley, parents, Henry and Laura (nee Denomie) Fontaine; sister, Florence Watson; brothers, Theodore, Edward, Leon Fontaine and great-grandchildren Amber Miller and Mary Ann DeFilippo.

Services will be private and handled by Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
